Modern finishes, private bathroom, forest outside
This is the most comfortable of our long-term lets short of the two-bed log cabin, and it's the one we recommend to people who want the setting without compromising on facilities. It sits in the black lodge, the newest and best-insulated building on the park, and it has a separate bedroom, a living area, a proper kitchen and — the part that matters to most enquirers — its own private shower room.
That means no walking across the site with a towel, no sharing, and no negotiating with anyone about anything. It also means it's the unit that goes fastest, so the honest advice is to ring early rather than waiting for a gap to appear.
The contrast is what makes it work. Inside it's clean, modern and quiet. Step out of the door and you're on a fifteen-acre rustic park inside Epping Forest, with your own private outside area, horses in the paddock, deer crossing the meadow at dusk and not a road within earshot. Central London is twelve miles away and Loughton station is about three.
